Auburndale Man Killed in SR60 Crash in Lake Wales By Moody Law | Personal Injury Attorneys on April 18, 2011

This accident happened Phillip Craig Durden, 26, of Auburndale, Florida, was driving his 2002 Ford F-150 pickup truck pulling a trailer on SR 60 in Lake Wales when a 1997 International semi-truck collided head-on with Durden.  The accident happened at approximately 10:30 p.m. west of Capps Road.  The truck was driven by Jay Michael Batson, 41, of Lake Wales, Florida.  At the time of the accident, the truck was carrying a load of citrus molasses.  Durden's truck had significant damage and may have erupted into flames.  Durden died at the scene.  Batson was wearing a seatbelt and was taken to Lake Wales Medical Center where he was treated and released.  This accident is still under investigation.
