The City of Lakeland settled a dog bite case for $6,500 with Shakeria Smiley.  The dog allegedly got out of the police car by accident when a woman, fighting with the officer, accidentally pushed a remote control button on the officer's body.  The remote control opened the door to the police cruiser and released the dog.
