Federal Stimulus for Connection between I4 and the Tampa Crosstown Expressway By Moody Law | Personal Injury Attorneys on February 27, 2010

Federal stimulus dollars are expected to be used for what has been dubbed, "the Connector," a $389.5 million toll road connecting Interstate 4 to the Crosstown Expressway.  This new road will only be 1 mile long and will be largely elevated above the ground.  The toll for this small stretch of elevated roadway is expected to be $1.00 to drive it.  This new road is expected to take trucks out of Ybor City's historic district.  By doing this, trucks will be able to reach destinations such as the Port of Tampa from I4 without having to use the grid of intersections after getting off.  It is expected that this will result in greater highway safety and few car or truck accidents.  This is the most expensive roadway project in Tampa Bay history.
